Prerequisites:
- Download Sun Ray Operating Software from https://support.oracle.com
- Download Sun Ray Software 5.x from https://support.oracle.com, https://edelivery.oracle.com
- Copy Sun Ray Operating Software to Sun Ray Server’s /Desktop directory
- Copy Sun Ray 5.x Software to Sun Ray Server’s /Desktop directory
bash-3.2# unzip SUN\ RAY\ OPERATING\ SOFTWARE\ 11.0.2.0.06.zip
bash-3.2# unzip Sunray\ 5.3.zip
NOTE: If you are upgrading then stop Sun Ray Software services before proceeding
bash-3.2# /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utstop
a. Install Sun Ray Operating Software First
bash-3.2# cd /Desktop/sros_11.0.2.0
bash-3.2# ./utfwinstall
b. Installing JDS_Integrator
bash-3.2# pkgadd -d /Desktop/srs_5.3.0.0-SunOS.i386/Supplemental/JDS_Integrator/Solaris_10+/i386/Packages SUNWuttscwrap
c. Verify installed java version, if its 1.6.x then go ahead with Sun Ray Upgrade , else extract latest java from Supplemental directory and copy extracted contents into /usr/java directory. I have java version 1.6.0_26 so I don’t need to install java.

java version "1.6.0_26"
bash-3.2# /Desktop/srs_5.3.0.0-SunOS.i386/utinstall
d. After successful upgrade reboot your Sun Ray Server
bash-3.2# init 6
updating /platform/i86pc/boot_archives
e. Once reboot completed, test your upgraded Sun Ray server and proceed to upgrade other Sun Ray servers by applying same procedure as stated above.
